Amy Van Dyken was a top performer in the women's swimming competition at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games. She would still need a strong team to take through to another Olympic gold medal. With team-mates Angel Martino, Catherine Fox and Jenny Thompson she had just that.

In a close race team USA took the gold medal with China in second and Germany winning the bronze medal. They set a new Olympic record was set at 3:39.29.
